North Armagh

Also known as ‘the orchard of Ireland’, this part of the county is the major fruit-growing region of the island.

Originally a farm house, ARDRESS HOUSE (call 38851236 for information)
was later turned into a manor house. The site is pleasant and a good
spot for walking.
Another fine site is the country house of THE ARGORY (call 87784753 for
information) which stands above the River Blackwater. The house has a
private plant which allows some rooms to be lit by acetylene gas.
