THE
SUBURBS Cave Hill Country Park (call 90776925 for information) is
probably the best spot to get a nice overview of Belfast and the
surrounding area. Climbing up the 368m Cave Hill will reward you with
amazing views over the city and the park is great for walking.
Belfast Castle (call 90776925 for information or visit
www.belfastcastle.co.uk) is a late 19th-century building, the castle
stands on the eastern slopes of Cave Hill. Displays in the Cave Hill
Visitor Centre located in the |
castle will provide you with information
about the park’s folklore, history, archeology and natural history.
Malone House (call 90681246 for information), Sir Thomas & Lady
Dixon’s Park and its rose garden, and the Parliament House and the
Castle in Stormont are also worth a detour.
Giant’s Ring is a large Neolithic ritual complex. The dolmen that
stands in its centre is known as the Druid’s Altar.
