 Dundalk - HERITAGE
Accommodation_Louth A town of no major interest, Dundalk is considered as being a republican stronghold (it is located only 13km from the border with Northern Ireland). Dundalk nevertheless has a few sites to visit. The neo-Gothic building of the Courthouse is a fine one. St Nicholas Church, also called the Green Church, is as old as the 15th century. St Patrick’s Cathedral has fine decorations and is close to the Louth County Museum (call 042-9327056 for information) which |
interestingly depicts the county’s history. Entertainment [Divertissements] Park St and the surrounding area is the place to go to find a good pub such as Toal’s Bar on Crowe St or Phoenix on Park St itself. |
