is Clare’s main town. A medieval town, Ennis is located on the banks of
the river Fergus.
Useful Information The Tourist Office is located on Arthur’s Row (call
682 8366 or visit www.shannonheritage.com) and is open at the following
times:
9.30am to 6.30pm from June to September
9.30am to 1pm and 2 to 5.30pm Monday to Saturday in April, May and
October.
9.30am to 1pm and 2 to 5.30pm Monday to Friday from November to March. |
Accommodation_Clare Sightseeing and Visiting Ennis Friary (call 682 9100 for information) was founded in the 13th century by the King of Thomond. Clare Museum (call 682 3382 for information) is to be found in the same building as the Tourist Office and recounts the story of the county from 6,000 years ago until now.
