Achill Golf Club operates a nine hole links course at Keel, at the
heart of Achill Island. It is set on machair, the name given to a
particular type of coastal grassland, on a level plain close to the
storm beach of Trawmore Strand. This links course offers spectacular
views of the Minaun Cliffs and Slievemore mountain. It is open to
visitors and green fees are set at very reasonable rates. Pitch and
putt is available at the Valley House in the north of Achill, and for
family fun there is crazy golf at The Chalet restaurant in Keel. |
