Accommodation_Sligo Sightseeing and Visiting The Yeats room of the Sligo County Museum (call 914 2212 for information) displays photographs, letters, newspaper cuttings, all related to poet William Butler Yeats, whose mother was from county Sligo. It also contains drawings from his brother, painter Jack B Yeats. from Charles Lamb to Jack B Yeats and his niece Anne. Sligo Abbey (call 914 6406 for information) was first built in 1250 but had to be reconstructed twice after it burnt down, in the 15th century and then in 1641. Only ruins remain nowadays. The Victorian Courthouse and the Yeats Building are also of interest. Entertainment To be mentioned is the Sligo Arts Festival (call 916 9802 for information) which takes place in May-June.
