Mainly popular for being a seaside and golfing resort, Portstewart’s atmosphere will charm the visitor. The small town is no more than a promenade ending at a harbour. The Tourist Office (call 70832286 for information) is located on The Crescent in Town Hall and is opened from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday in July and August only. The 20-mn walk along Portstewart Strand is a nice promenade along the beach. For walking lovers, the 10.5km Port Path is a footpath which runs along the coast |
from Portstewart Strand to White Rock. For golfing lovers, it is noteworthy that Portstewart is located not far from Royal Portrush, Porstewart and Castlerock golf courses, three of Northern Ireland’s best. Finally, in early may, the North-West 200 motorcycle race (visit www.northwest200.com for information) takes places on a closed roads circuit between Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine. |
