Accommodation_Wexford Named ‘Waesfjord’ (harbour of mud flats) by the Vikings, Wexford’s handy location near the mouth of River Slaney made it a favourite spot for landings and invasions. Traces of the Norman fort are still visible in the Irish National Heritage Park. |
